State 'Little FTC' acts
Every state has an Unfair or Deceptive Acts and Practices (UDAP) statute prohibiting fraud and deception in consumer transactions. Many allow consumers to recover actual damages, statutory or treble (triple) damages, and attorney's fees. Enforced by state attorneys general and private suits.
